AT SOME POINT WE NEED TO LOOK AT WHAT IT IS THAT MATTERS TO US.... NOT WHAT IS THE MATTER.
![]() “According to the latest science evolution is NOT the human story and there is no physical evidence to support this” were Gregg Braden’s first words at his latest conference I recently attended in Sedona Arizona. Gregg went on to say that “modern humans showed up 200,000 years ago, we don’t know why? but science knows how”. What changed here apparently that set us apart from chimps was a chromosome change. The first one was responsible for speech and language (which is why chimps can’t sing) and the second was we could facilitate a higher consciousness than animals, or the part of us that is capable of transcending animal instincts. We were the result of something so powerful and have been gifted with something so amazing, yet we continue to do damage to ourselves and others, and totally underestimate ourselves. Some folk have been acutely aware of their consciousness for some time, whilst others are just beginning to explore a greater self awareness. Some folk don’t want to know, whilst others have been jolted back to re-remember their heightened consciousness. No matter where people are in their degrees of awareness, it makes it very exciting times to be alive. Of course there is some really ‘dark’ stuff going on in the world, and we can moan about it and feel powerless? or we can identify the contrast that exists to awaken the old knowledge and start the shift to a new world. Somewhere we lost our knowledge? however science is blowing the lid off and those of us who this really speaks too can finally unleash what has been dormant for too long. I have come to my own personal conclusions after many years of working in mental health, that those of us who have/are/continue to struggle with ‘being’ here are probably the ones who are closest to this understanding more than others who don’t have quite as much sensitivity. Imagine if we could have different conversations about how to manage our gift of sensitivity through a window of ancient wisdom. One of the models of health in Aotearoa is Te Whare Tapa Wha, developed by Sir Mason Durie who talks about the wairua being pivotal to wellbeing. Imagine if we could develop this as a nation to not only know and talk about it, but to live by it and demonstrate it. I believe suicide stats would decrease and mental health services needed less. Whether folk like it or not, there is a ‘waking’ up and it’s happening fast… Personally Im on board and I can’t wait to see what happens next. If you want to learn more I am running a workshop this Sunday @ The Josephites Retreat Centre. ‘Stepping into a new paradigm’.
