Im deeply aware that I have a ‘side’ to me that’s not exactly my best side. It’s neither peaceful nor calm, and it’s a side where I am uncomfortably comfortable in looking at the negative side of life rather than what’s good and what Im grateful for. I know this darker side of me well!. Sometimes it’s welcomed, especially when it acts as my ‘risk radar’ warning me to keep my wits up around certain situations or people, but sometimes it dominates and gets in the way of my happiness. It’s all about context, discernment and trusting in intuition. I don’t see this duality in me as unusual, I call it being human, and thanks to modern science this duality is now identifiable and measurable. I spent many years consistently in that fight or flight space, never wanting or choosing to be there, but not informed or equipped enough to do something different. I now am, only because I made the decision to literally go into ‘battle’ with my own thinking. This lead me to where modern science meets the meta physical, which wasn’t mainstream then and sadly it still isn’t. However I predict that this is going to change and that’s thanks to people like Dr Bruce Lipton, Dr Joe Dispenza, Dr Kerry Spackman, and Gregg Braden. There is a clause, and it’s pivotal to this inner work! .and that is, once informed and awake to the belief that we have far more power to create happiness than we thought? there is more (not less) response-ability on us. The paradox is though, that when you get to this point, it takes little energy to stay there. It’s much harder to stay negative than it is to stay positive once you’ve crossed the difficult river of change and you become more awakened to your own potential. Every thought I now know leads me to my future, I don’t have to predict my future, I simply create it. Being a victim of life is no longer valid. Ignorance (of the self) is NOT bliss, ignorance can kill and according to science, does! I sometimes look back and wonder how I dodged that bullet of dis-ease with 10 years of stress responses radically running amok around my body, I now know why all those positive affirmations could never have worked as no amount of positive thinking could over rule my entrenched chaotic emotional state. Authenticity to me is a balance of our whole humaness, including accepting, but not being dictated by, the lower frequency stuff like anger, fear, lust, jealousy, greed, control etc. Allowing the right mix of frequency and flow is key to wellbeing I have found. This is something we can’t force, we get there by our own awareness and readiness. Try to force a butterfly leave it’s cocoon before it’s ready, and it will die. We all have this powerful thing called a brain which is hungry and designed to learn and experience. Be open to new discoveries. Science tell us that 95% of our decisions are made from a subconscious level, best we start getting familiar with what’s getting decided under there but at a pace which is gentle enough, but at the same time challenging enough to create forward steps. Socrates said “know thyself” and thousands of years on that still applies, I wonder what Socrates would think of us and how far we have come?
